The front needs to be glossy so that you look like you are an authority figure who just stepped out of a magazine.

The use of white space the font mimics high end magazines for a reason 😉

This is where you pull out your notes from your clients and see what they are calling you to put your tagline under your name.

I’m not quite yet ready to put ‘Your Marketing Angel’ under my name. Lol

So I put my tagline and rally cry here instead.  You can use either. Use your client’s words if you want the most power.

My image is on the card for 2 reasons:

  1. People remember faces, not business names!

What they shake your hand and you talk, your face is the only way they are going to find you in a mountain of business cards.

  1. The eyes are the windows to the soul!

People do not trust you if they cannot see your eyes.

My image isn’t large because I like looking at myself or have a big ego.

It’s so you can see my eyes and know that I care about YOU!

The back needs to be matte so that people can take notes.

Your Business Card must have ALL of these elements…

  1. Complimentary, not Free

I’ll be blunt again, in the coaching space, saying free is asking for a client who cannot afford you.

You can help those later, after we get you profitable.

  1. You cannot use the words ‘Strategy Session.’

That’s what it is, but people are really put off by that these days. The term is overused.

What you call your session is specific to your brand.

Terrie helps remove blocks to success, health and happiness, so hers is a ‘Critical Block Session.’

Another client of mine has a ‘Success Upgrade Session.’

Another has an ‘Integrated Health Session’ because he’s a wellness coach.

This is where you pull out your notes from your clients and see what their biggest pain it is that you solved for them.

What can you do, related to that pain in a 20min session?

That’s the offer you put on your card.

Are you an organization expert? ‘Take Back Your Time’ Session

Are you a business consultant? ‘Get Working ON Your Business’ Session

Are you a parenting consultant? ‘Get Your Kids to Listen’ Session

  1. Put a value to your session

You MUST put a dollar value to the session.

They will not know the value of the gift unless you tell them.

They will not value the gift and take action on it unless they know what it is worth in numbers.

How much do you charge for a 60 minute session?

Divide by 3 and you have the value of this 20 minute session. Simple.

If you leave this off, YOU WILL NOT CONVERT.

The people who have the money to pay you know that their time is valuable.

They want to know that your time is valuable, that YOU value your time.

That’s who they want to work with.

If you skip this piece you are hamstringing your business.

  1. Make their pain real

This piece comes is because I’m also coach.

I want you to write down your goals and keep them in front of you to keep you focused and to manifest them faster.

Terrie removes blocks for people. She wants them to crystalize what their major block is so they can see it when it may have been hiding before.

You know what else it does?

It pokes your pain and asks you what you are going to do about it!

And what’s offered on the card?

A way to fix that pain and make your goal happen.

And when her clients carry this block around in their wallet and finally get tired of not being able to take care of it quickly on on their own, who are they going to call?

The expert who identified your pain and gave you a clear, simple path to solve it of course!

  1. Make Referrals a Win Win!

I bet you a bottle of champagne that you are not asking for referrals effectively.

No one does.

What if you could empower your hot clients to give you referrals and hound their friends to call you!

This one little line at the bottom does that…Referred by:

The person receiving the card thinks the name is on there so that you can place whose friend they are.

You and the friend know that for every referral that shows up to their 20 minute session, they will get a 20 minute session…

or for every 3, its up to you and how much time you have and be generous

Referral based leads are the hottest and fastest converting.


Their friend has already said, “Man, you’ve got a problem and I know just the person to fix it!”

Usually referring clients just leave it at that.

With this system, they have a vested interest in following up on that referral FOR YOU, getting their friend to show up so that they get their session too.

IMPORTANT – When you give these cards out to your clients for referrals, ONLY give them 3 at a time.

3 is the magic number.

I’d always read that, but I had to prove it for myself! Lol

Let me tell you about wonderful hair dresser…

Whenever someone complimented my hair, I’d tell them about D’Anna and have to get out my phone and look up the number.

Finally I asked her for some cards.

She only had 3 left, so she gave me those.

I’d handed them out within a week.

So next time I said, Give me a stack!

I found that stack of 12 cards 3 months later when I cleaned out my car and all 12 were still there.

I loved D’Anna. I knew better.  And I still had all those cards.

She moved to a new salon and gave me 3 cards and they were handed out within a week.

She had no referral incentive on them. I handed them about because she’s an awesome artist who makes everyone look good 🙂

Step 2: Qualify Your Clients with a Free Application

Let’s be real. You only have so much time in your day.

You can’t help everyone.

Not everyone is ready to listen to you and do what needs to be done.


You have to filter and qualify who can work with you and you have to do it fast and cost effectively.

What if you could do it for free?

Dust off your gmail account. It’s time to build a free Google form.

If you do not have a website or an opt-in page on another platform, your /gift will go straight to this form.

You will still get their emails to put into your system when you build an autoresponder later.

If you do not already have an autoresponder set up… LEAVE IT ALONE!

Completely contrary to what you’ve been hearing?

Hell yes!  

We want you out there making money building your hot market, helping people not stuck behind a computer trying to figure out how to do it and what to say.

You now have an automatic way to filter your clients and send them on to set their own time…which has a 30% higher show up rate than having a VA call and do it for you and is cheaper and easier too!

At the end of the Google Form you need a link to send them to your calendar and we are going to do that now.

Step 3: Automatically Set Appointments

No more fumbling with phones or emails, going back and forth until you both find a date that works.

TimeTrade empowers you both to find the optimal appointment slot in the least time and frustration.

After your prospect finishes the Google Form, they will get a link to your individual TimeTrade account.

Make sure you click the button for the Individual Level.

All you need is the Individual level at $50 a year.

Got ahead and sign up for it now.

Make sure you do the Individual Level, if you do the business level, when you activate your the account at the end of the trial, you'll have to start all over again at the individual with a different email and your links will stop working and people will not be able to make an appointment.

It’s a pain when they call and you have no idea where the system broke down.

This has happened to 2 of my clients, so now I make them pay for the correct level up front.

Once again, this is tech, so I shot a video to walk you thru it.

Remember to open a new browser so that you have my video showing you how in one window and you actually doing it in the other.

It’s the easiest and fastest way to deploy as well as learn…by doing!



Now you’ll take that TimeTrade link and put it in the Google Form and people can choose their own time and it will show up automatically on your Google Calendar and you’ll get an email notification!

I love backup notifications!

And TimeTrade and Google will alert you when the appointment is coming so that you don’t miss it!

If you have a website, use PrettyLink plugin and set up a redirect with the TimeTrade link to use on your Google Form. Then if you change the TimeTrade link later, you don’t have to mess with the Google Form, you just change the redirect. I like it to be easy to pivot marketing!

Let’s address the elephant in the room…

You said I don’t need a website, so how does the work?!

If you don’t have a website, in step 4 I’m going to show you how to register a domain and set up a redirect to your Google Form.

If you have a website, your /gift will go to a dead simple opt-in page that will redirect to your Google Form on completion and I’ll show you that in Step 4 too…

Step 4: Domain Redirect/Opt-In Page

This funnel I’ve been giving you right here is the EXACT funnel I use, my clients use and we are closing as many clients as we can handle every month.

We do it in 2 versions – with and without a website.

Without a Website:

  1. Go to or and register your domain

Here’s the short answer to, What domain do I choose?

I have this conversation constantly and here’s what I ask my clients:

  1. Are you creating a business that you want to sell one day? (if yes biz name) (usually no and got to question 2)
  2. How will people look for you on Google?

    I’ll give you a clue…the answer is your name every single time.

We coaches come up with the greatest business names. They are inspiring and really cool and when they show up on an invoice, our clients never know who we are!

That’s why I had to do a DBA for mine so that you get your invoice from ‘Hester Enterprises.’

You know who Liz Hester is, right?

And you’ll never find my old marketing site in a million years.

Sure, ‘Eureka Marketing’ sounds cool, but who did you Google? Liz Hester, right?

Do your clients a favor,

Make yourself easy to find

Make yourself easy to pay

Register the name you go by in your business as your domain.

Yes I own and all it does is redirect to because only my family is looking for Elizabeth 🙂

DO NOT spend thousands on a name that is already taken.

Go with or .org and spend $8 for the domain.

If you insist on getting your hosting at the same time ONLY use

We end up have to move everyone over there eventually.

They are reliable, emails get delivered and sites load fast.

And For about $100/year you get the domain name too.

ONLY get the base package. No bells or whistles. It’s all you need 🙂

  1. Redirect the whole domain to your Google Form.

I’m going to show using GoDaddy because that’s who I use.

Say what you will, when RegisterFly when belly up and all my domains were forcibly transferred to GoDaddy, they treated me right and their support has been excellent and I have had no problems with my domains (just do not get their hosting package. That sucks. Bluehost only for hosting)

Log into your Godaddy Account:


Click on your Name and Choose Manage Domains:


Click on the down arrow next to the domain name:


Choose Forward Domain:


Choose Add one now:


Enter Your TimeTrade Link, Hit Add and you are done!


Now you can put just on your card (no /gift) and it will take them immediately to your application.

If you have a website…

Then /gift can either be a redirect to your Google Form OR it can go to your opt-in for your master email list and have a reminder email to make sure that they signed up for a time.

Here’s what the opt-in page should look like:

Do you see how Terrie’s opt-in mirrors her business card just adding a way to opt in?

Let’s break it down:

  1. Testimonial to let them know why they should invest the time
  2. Your face so they know they are in the right place
  3. Simple headline that tells them what to do! “GET Your”…just like your card
  4. Apply now so that they know what comes next is the application
  5. Popup for email – This so called 2-step opt-in is critical. You get 30% higher more opt-ins than putting the Name and Email fields directly on the page
